A Voice in the Wind

Hear ye!! Hear ye!! Add this book to your list of Christian/Faith Based novels now!

If you’re looking for a book to tickle every emotion, this will definitely do the trick. I have read other books by Francine Rivers (The Shofar Blew…ensure you read that too…especially young women in the early stages of marriage to young pastors and even those developing…I’ll probably do a review on that book too 😉 ) and there’s no question that she’s a greatly inspired writer. In A Voice in the Wind, Rivers brings readers back to the first century and introduces them to Hadassah – a character they will never forget…no kidding!

I must confess that at first I thought this was another book about Queen Esther. But not so…well not entirely…Rivers does borrow  a couple of Queen Esther’s characteristics, like:

  • her Jewish name: Hadassah
  • her status: orphaned
  • Set in an era of oppression and war
  • Secret of her lineage and belief in Christ
  • Woman who found favor in the King’s court

And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter. Esther 2:7

So if you thought you knew how to make a grand entrance? Check out Francine’s opening sentence….“The city was silently bloating in the hot sun, rotting like the thousands of bodies that lay where they had fallen in street battles.”  A Voice in the Wind. Maybe not so grand..but it sure makes a statement.

The start of a new journey

Mike Dooley said, “when just starting out on a new journey it’s only natural to feel vulnerable. After all, it may seem that you have much to lose. But never again, at any other point in the same journey, will you have so much to gain”.

This journey has been years in the making…some amount of procrastination and life happening influenced that…but I never lost sight of the vision and butterflies I had the first time I had dreams of starting a blog that spoke to concerns we have as young Christians…it just happened to take some time to come to fruition. I don’t know when this journey will end, will it? Some journeys don’t have endings, they lead to new beginnings. These are the journeys that lead to great adventures!

All I know is wherever this journey leads, I want to share my experiences, engage in meaningful discussions and God’s grace with you. I hope it inspires you to do the same for others.

There is a journey that’s waiting for each of us, you will make great discoveries, you will find treasures and hidden powers, it’s a journey divinely designed just for you, so be brave in self-love and start the journey within yourself, there God is waiting to show you his masterpiece of love. Micheline Jean Louis
